Blockchain: things to keep in mind for success (TeX Show Replay)
The TeX Show?
After 10 years of organizing the TechForum (an internal event within Worldline gathering more than 900 attendees to discover around 50 conferences animated by Worldliners from all around the world during 2 days), a global pandemic made events’ organizers imagine new ways of sharing discoveries and learning experiences within the company.
This is basically how the TeX Show was born: it is a digital and distributed event based on all the conferences which were supposed to be presented at the TechForum 2020. Based on a mix of live streaming sessions and pre-recorded videos, the TeX Show is the occasion for Worldliners to present their achievements and discoveries to their peers, and to learn from each others.
After weeks working on that new challenge, and thanks to the support and sponsorship of our partners GitLab, Checkpoint, and AWS, the TeX Show offers to Worldliners more than 80 sessions presented by 140 speakers from the company, during the whole month of October!
Multiple topics are covered by the conferences: from AI to UX, security, web development, agile methodologies… And guess what? We decided to share with you a small selection of sessions so you can discover our event as well! So please enjoy this first one, and let us know what you think.
Blockchain: things to keep in mind for success
We all have heard at least once about Blockchain, and how it could be used in basically any domain. But in this new conference on that topic, Hubert Marteau, Technical Expert and Blockchain Architect, decided to share with us everything we need to know in order to successfully work with Blockchain.
Actually, here are a few words shared by Hubert to describe his presentation:
There’s nothing new about Blockchain. It is just a new way to manage data but that is exactly one of the greatest problems. The technology is simple, but the way to think about all of the solution is different. A Blockchain solution is not only a technical part. Blockchain solutions need the “Blockchain spirit” to be broadcasted to any part of the solution: system administration, technical team, project management, project direction, biz dev and sales. How can a Blockchain solution be proposed if a client can’t support his/her part of system? Why develop a Blockchain solution if the business model can’t answer to company’s economic plan? What is the future of Blockchain? By analysing reason of failures in different parts of the solution, it’s easy to highlight great point to keep in mind during Blockchain solution creation. Without focusing on one particular Blockchain, this presentation will discuss important subtopics for example decentralization, difference between Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), data transparency, data visibility and the impact of all these topics on system architecture, implementation, project management, client relation.
And here’s the video of the conference:
